Goal of the Program

The primary objective of the Bachelor of Science- RRT to BSRT Program is to enhance the knowledge and abilities of a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the realms of administration-management, advanced clinical leadership, education, and research to help prepare them for more advanced roles in Respiratory Therapy.

The American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) has recommended that the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) "change the standard to require all accredited programs after 2020 to offer a baccalaureate degree in respiratory therapy" (Respiratory Care Magazine, Vol. 56, May 2011). In addition, the Bureau of Labor Statistics expects the field of respiratory therapy to grow by 19% by 2022.
